Why 4-H makes a difference

4-H is real life experience:
It's learning how to do jobs and make decisions similar to those that are important in adult life.

4-H can be a family affair:
There is a place for others in the family if they want to participate.

4-H is adaptable:
Programs can be "tailor made" to fit any individual, any home, or community;  so that everyone gains from the experience.

4-H is decision-making:
Decision making is important.  Participating in 4-H provides an opportunity to learn and work together as a group, but still grow as an individual.  Early practice in making both personal and group decisions creates a very capable young adult.  Members are encouraged to find answers to situations that may arise and are encouraged to explore and decide which solution they will follow.

2010 Fair Information Update (7/21/10)

**Special Announcement**

The 2010 Camden County 4-H Fair will not be held in Blackwood.  This year our 4-H Fair will be located at The Gloucester County 4-H Fair Grounds in Mullica Hill NJ.  Please be sure to visit us there!!

Why are we not in Blackwood?  The Camden County 4-H Fair Grounds located in Blackwood, NJ will potentially be sold by the County of Camden to the US Army Corps of Engineers in June 2010.

The Camden County 4-H Association and our local Rutgers Cooperative Extension staff are working closely with representatives from the County of Camden to ensure that our relocation and transition to a new home in Camden County is smooth.

Camden County 4-H is saddened that the grounds are being sold.  However, we will continue to "make the best better" and utilize this as an opportunity to better serve the residents and children of Camden County.

We are confident a new location will be determined and announced soon.

Thank you for your continued support of
Camden County 4-H and check back to see how we grow into the future.

"To make the best better"

4-H is a communityof young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.

4-H is a national youth development program for children that has been in existence for over 100 years. Annually, more than 6.5 million young people are involved in 4-H. Emphasizing "learning by doing," 4-H is dedicated to the growth and development of boys and girls, ages 5-18, of all backgrounds whether they live in the city or on a farm. The primary goal of 4-H is to assist youth in developing life skills that help them live productive and satisfying lives. Some important life skills include making decisions, solving problems, relating to others, planning and organizing, communicating with others, leading self and others, and applying science and technology. Being part of a 4-H club is one of the most meaningful ways to participate
 in 4-H.
